How happily my Holy Names/Jesuit education comes to mind with that all-important Ignatian word, discernment. It speaks volumes because it assumes we can think for ourselves. However, my Dominican roots remind me the key to discernment is knowledge, veritas, if you will. How can we discern if we don't know, if truth is not available?
